You lost your administrator password to the Men & Mice System.

In the Men & Mice Suite 5.5 and above, the Suite stores its user account data, including passwords, in a SQL database table. Furthermore, passwords are stored in encrypted form. Therefore, they’re not easily resettable from the file system.

The simplest solution, if it’s available to you, is to log in with a different user account that has user management privileges. This is only available if you’ve checked the permission box that says “Administer users/groups” in Administration→System Settings→Access Control for the user account. (Of course, the administrator account and any member of the Administrators group always has this privilege.)

If your installation meets these criteria, simply log in as an account for which you have the password and which has access to user data. Then go to Administration > User Management, open the account for which you’ve lost the password, and change it.

Otherwise, contact us and we will find a way to help you resetting the password. Depending on your situation you may need to send us the Men & Mice Suite database file. We will send you detailed instructions on how to do so, if needed.
